Michael Brian Lee

He writes a monthly column on creativity for the Mail and Guardian South Africa, he also regularly features on Radio 702 as well as other media outlets. He is the world’s only certified Master of Creativity and Innovation Coaching and is also trained in six other coaching disciplines, as a Master NLP Practitioner, a Certified Coach Trainer, and an Adaptability Quotient (AQai) Professional Practitioner.

Michael is also an International Advisory Board Member of World Creativity and Innovation and an Exco member of the Creative Community of Practice of the BIC Foundation.

He holds an MA from Stanford University and is currently studying for an MS in Creativity and Change Leadership from Buffalo State University. He also founded the Academy of Television and Screen Arts in Johannesburg, demonstrating his commitment to fostering creative excellence in education.

He has spoken at numerous creativity conferences and universities on the topics of creativity, innovation, and adaptability, including the Creativity Conference Iceland, the Creativity Conference of Southern Oregon, ACRE South Africa, Leaderex, Buffalo State University, and others. He has also spoken at the Global Speakers Summit and the annual conventions of the Professional Speaker’s Association of Southern Africa and the Professional Speaker’s Association of India. His clients have included Pernod Ricard, Multichoice, ABSA, HP, DHL, Business Engage, GIBS, and Joe Public.

He is a dual citizen of South Africa and the United States and has years of experience in the film, TV, and literature industries as a writer, producer, director, and script editor in both countries as well as throughout Africa and Europe. His TV productions have won 5 South African Film and TV Awards (SAFTAs), he has directed documentaries and reality shows, and he is currently producing an adaptation of Credo Mutwa’s Indaba My Children for international broadcast.

He was a Founding Editor of the renowned international literary magazine Trafika, in Prague, and has helped several authors write their books. His own upcoming books include: The Tao of Adaptability, The I Ching of Creativity, The Art of War and Innovation, Innotivity: Mind Makeover Manual, How to Dance with Uncertainty, Everything is Innovation, World Cup Innovators, and Mazal U’Bracha: Jewish Principles for Business Innovation (co-written with Rabbi Sa’ar Shaked).
